What would the long term effect to the economy when people hunting whale meat?

Can anyone please help me make some connections between maroeonomics/ economics and the activity of commercial whaling.

Will it effect the political issue?

How will it effect other business companies?

Thank you. What would the long term effect to the economy when people hunting whale meat?
Relationship between Commercial whaling and Economics:

1. Commercial whaling is an area of application for micro-economic applications. The demand and supply of whale meat and prices are variables/ functions of micro-economics in nature. The entire market mechanism, market structure, optimising of whaling operations can be studied in the framework of the theory of the firm, theory of consumer demand including substitutes, social costs ( effect of large scale whaling on ocean life/ eco-system, market morphology and market equlibrium, etc.

2. In macro-economic terms, the contribution of commercial whaling on GDP can be studied along with the imapct of this activity on the demand for equipment and plant and machinery required for whaling.

3. There could be political issues in terms of public policy on protection of cean species, international demarcation of deep-sea fishing boundaries, etc.

I am not sure whether I have got the intent of your questions alright. So, this is my immediate response on prima facie meaning of the queston. What would the long term effect to the economy when people hunting whale meat?
Tnx for your feedback and the points.
