In most provinces you need to take hunters ed before you can get a hunting licence. In Alberta it's by donation or seventy dollars online. No idea what it costs in other provinces. If you want to hunt with a gun you need to take get your Possession and Acquisition Licence by taking the Canadian Non-Restricted Firearms Course and pass the test or challenge the test. Taking the course is usually less than a hundred dollars challenging the test is usually lest than forty.





Once you get all your licences you can buy tags and enter into draws for special tags. The cost varies depending on where you hunt and what animal you want.
