I want to hunt but I am terrified of loud noises. How much noise does a crossbow make when being shot? Also: Are crossbows effective for deer and other such game? Tell me everything I need to know to get started hunting with crossbows. How do I start hunting with crossbows?
If your state has a legal crossbow season I would first go to a shop and get the feel for several different types of crossbows to find one of your liking.
Crossbows will take any game animal legal to use a crossbow with in the USA!
This is my set up a quad 400 accurate out to 60 yards for whitetail deer shooting 22';bolts 100 grain tekan heads with 15.5'; power stroke!
Draw Weight: 150-lb Foot Pounds Energy: 122
Speed: 345 fps!
Practise often to become a good shooter and a crossbow is very accurate as long as the shooter is!How do I start hunting with crossbows?
yes, crossbows are effective for deer. start by researching and buying a crossbow. but remember they are now making noise cancelling ear protection...think about it!
1st thing u need to do is check your local regulations to see if they r legal to hunt with.In Missouri you can use them instead of using a gun on some animals.Inorder to hunt deer and turkey during archery season with one I had to get a doctors statement saying i couldn't use a traditional bow due to an injury. If you can hunt with 1 they are very effective on everything from wild turkeys up to bears, including deer, elk, and moose (if you make a good shot on the animal).Crossbows are very quiet and have no recoil.
No issues regarding noise, very quite. Minimum draw weight should be 150lbs for large game (deer) and they are a VERY effective tool in all types of hunting. The main reason I use a crossbow is it extends the number of days I can hunt. In certain areas of PA, and with the proper stamps/license, you can hunt every individual season with a crossbow - archery, flintlock/muzzle loader, gun, etc. This allows me to hunt Sept - Jan with only one weapon/tool. Good luck
ummmm to hunt with a cross bow you mast be handicaped in an area! You have to have special stuff to hunt with it! And bows and cross bows dont make noise! Much noise anyways! JUst wind!
Really should check your state hunting regulations as the first step.
Most require having a Doctor signed statement verifying the individual applying to hunt with a crossbow is handicapped.
And yes they are certainly able to kill deer and small game within a reasonable distance.
Good luck
