You can no longer homestead in Alaska, you can obtain land though land lotteries which you can purchase land at a deep discount with stipulations reguarding how long you have to build. keep in mind most of this land is not near roads.Anyone know of free wilderness land with lots of trees and good hunting where I can build a log cabin?
No, there is no longer anywhere in the US that you can homestead anymore...there are however, small towns in the northwest that will give you a free 1/8 acre lot in town if you build a house there within 2 years....
Alaska... You can still homestead there (or so I've herd)
