They throw a pretty big party there once a year in the jackalope's honor. There's all kinds of neat activities there during that time. My friend was going to enter his truck in the mud bogging contest last year.

As far as the hunting license, you can get them really cheap up there in Douglas. They also usually come free when you buy a Jackalope shoulder mount. If you call the Douglas Chamber of Commerce to ask the details, I'm sure for just a few dollars they will send you a jackalope hunting license. How can i get a Jackalope hunting license from the Douglas, Wyoming chamber of commerce?
Jean is right! Montana is currently flooded with Jackalopes; one knocked over my garbage can last night! When you drive down a quiet road at night, all you see is glowing eyes and antlers for miles and miles!

All you have to do is show up at the Fish and Game with a roll of Copenhagen and a 6 pack of some generic lite beer, and your genuine Jackalope permit will be issued to you, guaranteed.
One must present themselves in person at the courthouse in Douglas, Wyoming and state that he/she wants to buy a jackalope hunting license. They are not sold by mail.
You can't, pretty much anyone else could, but your on the ';no Jackalope hunting licence'; list at the hunting licence store.

PS. I didn't put him on the list, I am just delivering the terrible news to him. I wouldn't want him to go all the way to Wyoming and be rejected just to go back to Florida in sadness.
Mail; the Chamber of Commerce there for the license which due to recent federal regulations may now only be issued on Feb 29, 2009. The recent Republican administration has decided to protect the rare Jackalope.
Actually, there are more jackalope in Montana.

December and January are the worst times of the year to go there. Most of the jackalope are hibernating, and you have to be careful of the Canadian mosquitos flying south for the winter.

I went jackalope hunting in New Mexico a couple years ago, and got bit by a stick lizard. You know, the ones that carry sticks in their mouths. When the desert sand gets too hot, they poke the stick down into a prairie dog hole, then climb up on it to cool down their feet.

Happy hunting!
Just ask anyone in Wyoming for a Jackalope license and they will be glad to take money from you. I got a 10 point this year on the first day of season.

I'm going fishing for Mermaids next.
in Wyoming, residents of Florida, have a 3 year waiting period, for getting a Jackalope license.

there is a quota, on non resident license, state by state %26amp; Florida hunters , are backed up for the next 3 years.

i have a permit, for the month of october, 2009
Special ';Jackalope'; licenses are issued by ';Permit Only'; and the permits are issued thru LOTTERY drawings by the Douglas Wyoming Chamber of Commerce. You must purchase a $100 Non-Resident Lottery Ticket to be eligible for the drawing....If your name is drawn you also win an all expenses paid guided ';Snipe Hunt';, including airfare, meals and DELUXE accommodations (But you must supply your own burlap sack).....
Forget going there, they are bigger in Texas.
Actually, Wyoming just made the Jackalope the official State Antlered Rodent, and is now protected. Last year was the final year for hunting them. There are still many that have already been taken legally and mounted. A nice head will run you about $100.00.
