i mean people say that hunting is bad, but then again why is it OK for us to FISH?

I think Marielle, what your trying to ask why people are opposed to ,say deer hunting, and yet they have no problem killing fish.





I think the answer is two-fold, first, it has a lotto do with the way one was raised. If you were, for example, raised on a farm where you saw death at an early age, and everyone hunted for food, it would be very natural.





On the other hand, many people who enjoy sport fishing, but eat red meat might have their only exposure to raw meat come at the supermarket, wrapped in a nice cellophane container.





this is a pretty common thought, a fish comes from a foreign environment, whereas land mammals are very much like us, point a gun at a deer and look into its eyes, its hard to pull the trigger.





that's the difference, the similarities are the camaraderie and bonding that takes place. fishing and hunting aren't just the sport, its the preparation,and anticipation that makes it fun. It is for many a right of passage, and something to look forward to during the workday. for these reasons we should not say one is bad as opposed to the other
more animals will die without hunting. its called wildlife preservation. people have been hunting for so long that more deer would populate, than starve to death if they weren't harvested by a hunter. the ecosystem needs to be balanced by hunting.





fishing is different because you can release fish once they are caught. once you shoot an animal it will die.
If it was not for hunters there would be no place to hunt. As they today buy the land or lease it. That makes pepole envious of us. As compaired to fishing, Most of which can take place on public lakes and rivers. Tell a person they can not hunt on your land and they hate you!!! But you can not tell a person to leave a public lake. Makes a diference.
Hunting is not bad. In Northern minnesota there are very few people that have not hit or come close to hitting deer crossing a road. Ask them. As far as fishing. I release the bigger game fish so they can reproduce. I keep some fish for the table.
Whomever told you that hunting is bad is seriously misinformed. People have been living off food obtained by hunters and fishermen for thousands of years.
