What is the best shotgun for turkey hunting?

I have a 20 gauge and it works fine but I have been thinking about getting a new gun. What is the best shotgun for turkey hunting?
If you are getting a new gun I would go with a 12 gauge. You will be able to use it for turkeys, ducks and even deer. What is the best shotgun for turkey hunting?
My man, guns are like cars. Some are nicer than others but they all get the same job done. My suggestion would be to get a 12 gauge. Pump or auto doesn't really matter. The 12 gauge will give you a little more distance and shot quantity. A 3 1/2 inch will give you max shot quantity and using a turkey choke will tighten your pattern at long distances. I have consistently taken birds at 30+ yards with my remington auto super mag (3 1/2) with turkey choke. But...with the PROPER PRACTICE, you can make any gun work for you.
While a pump is not necessary for turkey, it is more versatile. I recommend a Mossberg 500 (or 500 Bantam) for their features:

* Drilled and Tapped - All 12 and 20-gauge models feature a drilled and tapped receiver, factory-ready for scope base and optics installation.

* Quality ques - a combination of dual extractors, twin action bars, positive steel-to-steel lock-up, and anti-jam elevator combine for reliable, smooth operation.

* Ported barrels - select 12 and 20-gauge barrels are factory ported for reduced muzzle jump and felt recoil.

* Fiber optic sights - fully adjustable front and rear fiber optic sights standard on all turkey models - perfect for use in low light conditions.

* Choke tubes - Interchangeable Accu-Choke tube set and wrench and X-Full choke tubes included on select models.

* Turkey features - XX-Full extended choke offered on select turkey models.

* Free gun lock and a 10-year limited warranty

* Made in USA

* Affordable at under $338 MSRP

If money is no object, try a Beretta A391 Xtrema2 Camo KO (MSRP $1,700), a Browning NWTF GOLD Ultimate Turkey (MSRP $1,513), or a Winchester Super X3 NWTF Cantilever Extreme Turkey (MSRP $1,399).
Anything a 20 ga. will do hunting turkeys, a magnum 12 ga. (3'; or 3 1/2';) or a 10 ga. will do better. This is especially true if you use some of the new non-toxic ammunition like hevi-shot. The bigger guns shoot more pellets and will increase your range and lethality.

The shotgun brand and action type will depend on your preference and budget. Least expensive are the single shots like the H%26amp;R: http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Shotguns/鈥?/a>

Next are pumps like the Mossberg http://www.mossberg.com/products/default鈥?/a> Remington: http://www.remington.com/products/firear鈥?/a> and Benelli: http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/novaP鈥?/a>

One of the pumps in camo is probably ideal, but there are several autos from Mossberg, Remington, Browning, Winchester, Benelli, Beretta and others.

You can spend from $200 to over $1500 on a turkey shotgun; you just have to decide what's right for you.
Remmington 1100. 12ga

I like an old Parker double 12 myself but the 1100 or 1187 is a great gun. 1100 is more popular and was brought back by demand.

If you like a pump think Remmington 870 wing master. Avoid the express like the plague.

Of course, if you have money to burn there are many fine guns out there.

If you want a low cost 12ga pump that will work dependably for years find an old cheap Mossberg 500. I had one of these that I carried in my truck, left in the back, even left lying outside on the ground for a week and it functioned well until I sold it for a mere $80 to my cousin
You might want to take a look at a Mossberg 12 gauge for a good turkey gun, but a shotgun or for that matter any gun is a personal matter. The biggest thing is to pattern the shot so you know what to expect from the shotgun. Good thing to know when you have a big tom with his beard swaying at 40 yards how your shot groups look.
pretty much any 12 gage..
Remington 870 Express Super Magnum! You can use everything from 2 3/4-inch loads to 3 1/2-inch Mag.

Have a good 'un
i think the best shotgun for turkey hunting is the mossburg 835TK tactical with real tree camo. It has great grips and is lighter that most shotguns .
I have used several different guns myself with more than adiquit results. They all have been 12ga with mag chambers, useing a x-full choke(turkey choke)

my fav was a moss 500
