How does hunting animals make you more likely to kill people?

I've heard people say that, how would it do that? How does hunting animals make you more likely to kill people?
There is a difference between killing animals during a hunt in order to eat the meat and torturing and killing animals for the sake of killing.

Since the beginning of time, people have hunted animals for the sake of food and for clothing. In some parts of the world, say in the Artic, people still hunt for necessity.

I've heard this saying before-your question-but I interpret it as meaning that if people torture and kill animals just for the sake of killing, that they are more likely to kill people than someone who has never killed an animal. (i.e.Jeffery Dahmer and Rob Z.'s Michael Myers)

Personally I believe it's unfair to assume killing animals leads to killing people since animals aren't human. How does hunting animals make you more likely to kill people?
I don't personally think that but I can see how someone might. They probably feel that if you can take the life of an animal it's probably not too far off to think you could kill a human, because those people want animals to be treated like humans. Those kinds of thoughts come from people who would never kill an animal and don't have a hunters mindset. Some people like to be dramatic too
Maybe if you mistook your hunting partner for a quail? Seriously, though, I don't think that hunting is an indicator of wanting to kill people. Torturing animals is one of the warning signs of being a psychopath, but other than that, I don't really think there's a relationship.
';I've heard people say that'; is a pretty weak source. It's most likely made-up anti-hunting propaganda. (I'm a vegan, not a hunter, but I still think it's absurd.)
It doesn't. There are notorious killers who are also hunters though.

People say a lot of things you don't have to believe each and every one.
It doesn't, unless the hunter is psycho. The hunters I know hunt for food and I don't think they want to eat any people.

Hunting does not make you more likely to kill people. Most people who hunt are doing it for the food.
It doesn't.

Anyone can pull the trigger.
Killing get easier each time you do it.
I dont think it does. hunting animals is sport, killing people is an illness
because people can stand up for themselves and animals cant,so if your cruel enough to hurt an animal who cant defend themselves,or scream for help then your cruel enough to hurt a human that can

but anyone who hurts an animal should get jail time, its crap that you only get slapped with a fine
