In wisconsin im pretty sure you have to apply and every time you apply you get a point and when you have a certain amount of points then you can hunt a bear. Can anyone explain how this works and how many points i need to hunt a bear. How does the points system work for bear hunting in wisconsin?
Wisconsin goes by a point system. 6 points is when you can usually draw a tag. Every deer season, we apply for a 'preference' point. I do believe I'm up to 5 points now, so in theory, next year I should draw a kill tag. You can skip up to 3 years and still keep your points, but after that, you are at 0. It's kind of a BS gig since there are more black bears in Wisconsin than I have seen in at least 20 years. I'm hoping that 6 years might be reduced to say, 4. Good luck. There is no other fast track way other than sit and wait. How does the points system work for bear hunting in wisconsin?
