What's the difference between fighting dogs and hunting animals?

they are both for sport and in both the animal always dies. what's the difference between watching two dogs fight and shooting deer or squirrels. Even though people can eat deer or squirrels people don't eat them to survive they do it for fun. What's the difference between fighting dogs and hunting animals?
I agree with you, the only difference between the two is that one is socially acceptable and the other is not. I enjoy eating steak, but I have no desire to go kill a cow. I am a hypocrite...I think killing animals is wrong; however I eat them. I also love dogs, thank god I don't like eating them. LOL.What's the difference between fighting dogs and hunting animals?
Their training and purpose. Hunting dogs don't get killed鈥攐ur prey does..
well dog fighting is cruel they die slowly and people put bets on em and **** like that.
Ur statement is partly true, but ur comparison is off the wall. Dogs r domesticated human companions and training them to regress back to being mean and to fight to the death is totally inhumane and brutal. Some will argue that shooting a deer or squirrel for meat is no different than killing steer and hogs for beef and pork, it`s a source of food. True, some do it for the sport, but lets be honest, training a dog to kill another dog and then to kill a dog because it isn`t performing up to par is beyond human tolerance. To watch and to wager on such horror and brutality makes that person lower than a maggot feeding on something dead.
If anyone kills animals ';just for fun'; they are PUNKS. People that fight dogs have something mean in them. Hunting for food, not just a waste, is different, although to me, it's not necessary to hunt anymore.(at least not for basic beef, pork, poultry, ) Hunting scares me a little, especially like wild pigs. They're out in the woods, and how would you know if they have a disease ?
Dogs are treated as pets and are protected under the law from cruelty, whereas other animals like deer or squirrels are not. Dogs and cats seem to feel more pain than other animals.
its inhumaine to put two dogs in a ring and let them duke it out till the death. this enrages me sooooo much. I cannot see an animal harmed, i cried when i shot a poor bird. it is so disgusting. and then to make money off of it, you need to be messed up in the head to see joy in death.
I'm not a fan of either, but generally in hunting the animals aren't tortured. Again, I DO NOT hunt.

Also, animals that are hunted in the wild weren't tortured for every day of their lives: dog fighters starve, abuse and torture their animals to make them as mean and hateful as possible.

I agree that both are wrong - but that is prolonged torture is the difference.
Dog fights to death is just plain wrong.

Hunting dogs help put food on the table -- duck, geese. Not everyone gets their food at Shaws.
It's the fighting part that's most objectionable... and then the waste of killing those animals, just because they lost a fight...

It's pointless suffering, all for the pleasure of the rich and stupid.

Aboout hunting... that's probably in the ';sights'; of PITA... it won't be long before they start speaking up on that one... but they know it will be a difficult fight...
people hunt for food,we eat deer, squirrels, you dont eat dogs,it is not humane to fight dogs to the death, that is just wrong.
Let's just admit that dogs are special. They're not just any other animal. They are our best friend. And in many cases our only true, loyal friend.
why do you ask this one

fighting is cruelty

hunt is sport and i do no sport nRA
Buddy, I can tell you've never been to an asian country. We eat anything you can imagine. Dog, cats, snakes, monkeys, rats... you name it.
Humans have domesticated dogs to be pets or working animals. As a result, these pets give loyalty to those humans who feed and take care of them. They can learn and follow commands. They are a part of our homes and our lives; they depend upon us for their very survival. To me it's a cruel betrayal to harm the animals that we have made so dependent upon us.

Game animals, on the other hand are free to roam and to breed. They have never been acclimated to live in our homes and there's very little control over where they live or how much they breed. They have not been bred to be loyal to humans. They are part of the food chain. Hunting has been a part of human existence since the days of the caveman. We are omnivores. When done responsibly, hunting controls overpopulation of various species and provides food.

I'll be the first to admit that i'm a hypocrite. If I had to do the killing, I'd most likely be a vegetarian. However, when I take responsibility for the welfare of a pet, you'd better believe that pet will not be abused in any way.
good point. however, i guess the difference is beast Vs. beast VS. man Vs. beast...so maybe the dog itself should be charged with cruelty %26gt;.%26lt;?
what's the difference between fighting dogs and your mom?
