How does modern hunting differ from the poaching of animals for tusks, horns, or hides?

How does modern subsistence hunting differ from the poaching of animals for tusks, horns, or hides? How does modern hunting differ from the poaching of animals for tusks, horns, or hides?
';Hunting'; is a totally Legal sport that first off acts as a form of leisure and it also provides Hurd Control. without hunting the animal population would increase and create disease, and many more car accidents. DNR only gives out so many Tags that are available every year and use the money to help construct new forests or help agriculture programs. Poachers illigally take game for their own bennifits without giving anything back. this causes a reduction in animal population and can cause severe changes in the wild like starvation for other natural predators. How does modern hunting differ from the poaching of animals for tusks, horns, or hides?
Generally, these days, it doesn't. The so-called Native Americans of Washington who want to hunt whales and call it ';subsistence hunting'; should just go to McDonald's and buy a gosh-darn cheeseburger like everyone else. It's not like they're going to starve to death if they don't kill whales.

A poacher takes and gives nothing back, and is usually unlawful. A hunter abides by rules and regulations, and contributes to the ecology through licenses and other fees. Hunters have a vested interest in the survival of their quarry as a species, where poachers may not.
You don't eat tusks, horns, or hides. You didn't know that?
